About us
GroGuard produces a high-quality, economic, and sustainable product so you can achieve high-quality, economic, and sustainable vineyard establishment.
GroGuard manufactures vineguards at its factory in Preston, Victoria. Because we manufacture locally, and from locally supplied materials, we have complete control of quality and offer reliable supply. With over 30 years’ shared experience with our customers in the field, we can work with you to get the possible results from our product.
GroGuard's philosophy is to make its product long lasting. We encourage re-use and on-selling of secondhand GroGuards before recycling at end-of-life. We then use repelletised material to make the zip for new Groguards.
GroGuard’s founder Graham Due graduated Roseworthy College in 1981, winning the Australian Wine Consumers Co-operative Society Award for viticulture and the Leo Buring Gold Medal for Dux of course. In 1998, Graham was awarded S.A. Wine and Brandy's Wine Industry Innovation & Achievement Award for his work on the vineguard.
The GroGuard project began with finding a way of establishing a vineyard without irrigation near Euroa, Victoria. The success of that project convinced Graham that unirrigated viticulture can be profitable, is the key to sustainability, and leads to the truest expression of terroir.
Shortly after, Graham founded GroGuard with the vision to create a product which could enable economic and sustainable establishment which produce high quality wines with true regional character.
Graham now has an experimental vineyard in the Otways.
